La Valse À Mille Temps by the one and only Jacques Brel; if you didn’t know, in France, Brel was literally bigger than Jesus, the Beatles and Elvis put together from about the mid-50s until his death in 1978 (and if I had my way the same would still hold true). I’ve seen it reported that people have written doctorate level essays trying to piece together the complete Brel discography so I suggest just grabbing any you can find, I’ve never heard a bad album from the man. Brel was also the major influence for most of Scott Walker’s 70s albums, especially Scott through Scott 4, from which the compilation “Sings Jacques Brel” was compiled.
